Truth and Perception

Perceptions of reality are often dependent on social and geographical positioning. Even scientific facts shift over time, certainties become fluid, sometimes even turn into the opposite. Nevertheless, we make decisions based on a reality. If this process becomes conscious, the narrowness of the individual reality widens, empathy for the other emerges. I felt this particularly clearly when different projects took me to other countries.

Many things that seem to be given to us are not perceived as such elsewhere. This does not make our own experience easier, but more interesting. Through my pictures I would like to enter into a dialogue with the viewers. If something touches me, I process it painterly. The more complex the situation, the more abstract the motif becomes in the end. This step into abstraction is sometimes necessary to leave the idea of a linear reality.
